We have something for everyone

The Steam Railroading Institute is full of opportunities for people ages 16 and up. You must be a member to volunteer.  Whether you’re adept with mechanical devices, have a green thumb, are computer savvy, love to research, or have any other talent, the Steam Railroading Institute needs volunteers seven days a week to fill a variety of positions. We are always looking for:

  • Tour Guides
  • Model Train Operators
  • Educational Group Instructor
  • Assistant Curators
  • Bookkeeping
  • Gift Shop and Admissions
  • General Fund Raising
  • Railroading Equipment Maintenance and Restoration
  • Track Construction and Maintenance
  • Groundskeeping
  • Miniature Railway/ Maintenance & Operation
