The Steam Railroading Institute is full of opportunities for people ages 16 and up. You must be a member to volunteer. Whether you’re adept with mechanical devices, have a green thumb, are computer savvy, love to research, or have any other talent, the Steam Railroading Institute needs volunteers seven days a week to fill a variety of positions. We are always looking for:

- Tour Guides
- Model Train Operators
- Educational Group Instructor
- Assistant Curators
- Bookkeeping
- Gift Shop and Admissions
- General Fund Raising
- Railroading Equipment Maintenance and Restoration
- Track Construction and Maintenance
- Groundskeeping
- Miniature Railway/ Maintenance & Operation

2013 BACKSHOP/VOLUNTEER WORK SCHEDULE
The backshop is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. All volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to come work during shop hours!
